Tangible AF

Our Mission
We are looking to explore the world of physical media and it's importance. This can include anything from DVDs, CDs, records, books, VHS, etc. Having your own copy of an album or film makes it yours, you get to own it and you don't have to borrow it from a streaming platform. It's nice to know that an art form you love will always be there even if you don't have a good internet connection. Aside from that, owning and collecting physical media gives a nostalgic and whimsical feel to life that we are starting to lose in the digital age. We want to bring back physical media in order to have a tangible copy of the albums, movies, and books that we all love.
Call for submissions
Submissions are now open for the first issue of Tangible AF (working title). We accept written forms such as short stories, essays, poems, etc. We are open to nonfiction and fiction pieces. The subject matter must include aspects of the mission statement, emphasizing the importance of physical media. You could write about your CD collection and why you choose to collect music. You could write a fiction piece about a magical record player. We ask that all pieces be 10- 15 pages, with a double-spaced format (this may vary for poetry pieces). All submissions can be emailed to la775623@ohio.edu. We are hoping to receive all submissions by November 5th, 2026.
